The Martlets play a 17-game schedule primarily against Founders League opponents and other schools in the area. Access to two gyms allows the team to hold 90-minute practices four days per week, with games usually taking place on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons.

The primary goals of the team are to facilitate the development of players who want to someday compete for the varsity team and to focus on significant chemistry building. Practices focus on skill development, simulated game play and the implementation of foundational schemes and concepts that are also run by the varsity team. Coaches will honor the skill level of all junior varsity team players and give everyone not only a good basketball experience, but a consistent chance to participate across all practices and games.
